Job Description

Position: Bookkeeper
Location: Chicago, IL (On-site with WFH Fridays; potential for full remote)
Salary: $50,000 - $60,000/year, plus bonus eligibility

We are currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join a well-established, mid-size Chicago advertising agency. This position has become available due to an upcoming retirement, providing a great opportunity for someone to step into a long-term role in a dynamic and supportive environment.

As a Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the agency's financial records. The company uses a user-friendly software called Advantage, which is similar to popular bookkeeping tools, making it easy to transition into the role. You'll enjoy working with a small, close-knit team of about 25 people, in a prime location on Michigan Avenue.

The role offers flexible work arrangements, with the option to work from home on Fridays and the potential to transition to a fully remote position in the future.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and payroll processing.
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare regular reports.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting as needed.
- Support the finance team with any ad hoc accounting tasks.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, ideally in a similar environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping software (Experience with Advantage or similar tools is a plus).
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
