Job Description
Responsibilities:
Construction of a 2-unit solar farm with an integrated battery storage system. Unit 1 has a capacity of 72 megawatts, and Unit 2 has a capacity of 124 megawatts.
Provide oversight to the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
Technical Recommendations: Offer technical recommendations on electrical activities during construction.
Electrical Work: Oversee low and medium voltage work, including field connections to solar panels and the next tracker system.
Verification: Ensure that all electrical work meets the required standards and specifications.
Safety Oversight: Maintain a strong focus on safety, ensuring all activities adhere to safety regulations and best practices.
This role is crucial for ensuring the successful and safe execution of the electrical components of the solar farm project.
Working with contractors to ensure technical and safety oversight.
Ensuring those connections to the solar panels are secured and eventually it will get more involved when the project moves to the inverters; ensuring that everything is wired and working properly with the inverter.
Interacting with all of the EPC contractors which may be up to 20 people, however, may be more during the final phases of the project.
Working with 3 to 4 other construction managers who are onsite on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is highly preferred
General Electrical Experience: 7+ Years of Experience: A strong background in electrical work is essential.
7-10 years of experience/ electrical inspector.
Extensive experience with low and medium voltage electrical work.
Solar Construction: Specific experience within the electrical discipline for solar construction is highly preferred.
Technical Proficiency: NEXTracker System: Familiarity with the NEXTracker system, which is a positioning system software for solar panels, would be highly beneficial.
Safety Expertise: Safety Champion: Must prioritize and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all activities adhere to safety regulations and best practices.
Strong communication, positive attitude. Highly collaborative.
Great to see previous EPC experience from Mortenson, Blattner construction. Or owners' rep side experience; National Grid, Nexterra, Duke Energy, etc.

Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
