Job Description
Position: Rover Armed SECURITY OFFICER Schedule: Evenings and Overnights/ Very Flexible You must at least have 3 years of SECURITY EXPERIENCE and MUST HAVE A DRIVER's LICENSE and a clean driving record Job Duties & Responsibilities - Report directly to the Operations Manager on all security personnel, operational matters and disciplinary related issues.
- Observe the "Chain of Command" with regards to all work-related issues; some personal issues may be taken directly to Human Resources.
- Review Security Console Log and Pass-on Book for updated information. Sign and date all pass down logs to acknowledge all new information.
- Ensure all Officers review and initial Pass-on, Incidents, Memos and Emails at the onset of the shift. •
- Review the Activity Calendars and ensure all scheduled activities are conducted before the end of the shift.
- Communicate all information to Security Staff which may affect the shift, both at the start and throughout the shift, as situations require.
- Monitor all Console equipment and or site laptops to ensure proper functioning. Report problems to the appropriate person.
- Manage the activity and location of security officers throughout the shift to ensure all required patrols and other duties are completed.
- Ensure that all unresolved problems from a prior shift are handled to conclusion on your shift or properly passed on to the oncoming shift for continued handling. •Document all shift activity, actions taken, communication, etc. as it occurs.
- Ensure Officers are properly uniformed and that the officer looks professional in the uniform, and fully able to perform required security duties at the start of each shift.
- Inspect and document any damaged or malfunctioning equipment at the start of the shift, including radios, cameras and monitors, phones, etc.
- Ensure shift is fully staffed and that Security Officers stay on post until properly relieved. •Review all shift paperwork for completeness and accuracy, including all security logs, sign-ins, incident reports, and other required shift reports.
- Dispatch security escorts for contractors, when required. Document in Shift Activity Log, and/or back fill positions vacated or call offs as necessary.
- Assist the Lobby Access Officer in monitoring authorized entry beyond public access areas to tenant floors when required.
- Keep Building Management, Engineering and Site Manager advised of all activity which may affect safety and/or security or any serious incidents.
- Ensure all pertinent information is forwarded to the oncoming shift. •Ensure proper signage is in place when escalators and/or elevators are out of service.
